About me.

One person who believes in you makes all the difference!

I founded Tiny House Family Services to promote social connection, mindfulness, and the science of happiness to build a more satisfying and easeful experience for parents and educators.

Our tiny house represents the ability to find happiness anywhere and beauty everywhere. This is inherent in young children.

Difficulties, challenges, and trauma can erode our capacity to see goodness, live life without fear, and think positively. However, just one responsive, caring adult can make all the difference for a child in becoming a healthy, resilient, perseverant adult.

My mission is to help parents and educators deepen their understanding of themselves through mindfulness practices and the guiding principles of child development to be that caring, responsive adult.

  • I bring over 20 years experience as a teacher, mentor, and administrator specializing in inclusive practices and early intervention in schools, non-profits, colleges, universities, and government.

I authored and successfully implemented an Early Learning Mentor Coach grant, which led me to my work with researchers who developed the Practice-Based Coaching framework.

Most recently, I served as the Regional Program Manager for the federal Office of Head Start where I supported Early Childhood programs in four states and territories. Under the Biden Administration, I had the opportunity to work on a small team that updated federal regulations on mental health, well-being, and child health and safety.

Teaching is my passion and I am grateful to serve as an adjunct professor for City College of San Francisco, the Contra Costa Community College District, and Arizona State University.

  • Master of Arts, Teaching with Specializations in Early Childhood Education and Special Education

  • My husband and I met in the lunch line in high school. Twenty years later, we were married and formed a blended family with our three delightful children.

Our greatest gift as parents is the closeness that is shared between our three kids. They are the best of friends who fiercely love and support each other in their unique interests and dreams.

Our journey was not an easy one. We navigated high anxiety producing life events, demanding careers, and an energetic neurodivergent child. Through those times, we let the practices of mindfulness, meditation, and cultivating trust anchor us as a family. It is with great gratitude that I am here now to share those practices with you.
